SAFI - New Single "Groteske"
A reflection on a nation's bad conscience. "Groteske" is out now.

This scene resembles a painting by Goya - it mockingly depicts a society celebrating in a room. Laughing men, girls amidst garlands, a blind spot in ones mind - no one is actually looking. The room is a fortress. People are dying outside of it. War and the escape of it are constantly present, yet they are being ignored.
A strange feeling surrounds the situation - a grotesque one. It gives the song and the forthcoming album its name.
Safi recounts the events using her velvety hoarse voice, banging them into our ears and brains. "Groteske" is a political bird's-eye view on Germany, perhaps Europe. Our prosperity causes destruction elsewhere.
The song contrasts a caustic noise carpet with a step on the dancefloor. It promises salvation through distraction.

SAFI is post-punk, no wave, avant-garde. "Groteske" is the nation's guilty conscience.
The album "Groteske" will be out November 8th, 2024.
